We welcome Tegan Cowell (right), the most recent member of our physiotherapy department. Tegan is a recent graduate from Queensland who has chosen to go rural on her first year out after a rural placement in her final year inspired her. “I loved the variety of work that I was presented with in the country. I even found having fewer resources than the big city hospitals sometimes offered me a chance to think out of the box. One patient I had to treat was a prisoner who had limited access to the gym equipment. I ended up devising a routine where he used his books wrapped up in a bed sheet as a weight so he could continue to practice every day!” She is also looking forward to working with clients. This could range from helping patients undergoing orthopaedic rehabilitation to helping our Acute in-patients make a successful return to living at home.
Cobram District Health are delighted to be able to better meet the demand in Cobram for physiotherapy. Contact your doctor for a referral or call Community Health on 03 5871 0777 (option 5) to speak to an intake worker.
