At Irvin House, we aim to make a real difference by putting people first in everything we do. Knowing you and your family as individuals is fundamental to our approach to care. Our Person First approach means we tailor our care to suit your needs and preferences. This approach is provided to every resident in our homes, and is especially important for people who are living with dementia.
Diversional Therapy staff are employed to arrange and promote activities. Irvin House provides a diverse range of activities within this program. A resident’s interests and preferences will be taken into account when the activities program is being compiled.
Shortly after admission to the facility, the Diversional Therapist on duty will introduce themselves to the resident and any family member present, and talk about interests and hobbies the resident enjoyed prior to admission. The Diversional Therapy staff are ably supported by a strong cohort of volunteers who visit the facility.
