After Hours Arrangements

Our practice provides 24-hour care for patients through a formal arrangement with Cobram District Health.  Doctors are rostered to cover emergencies in the Urgent Care Centre at Cobram District Health.

An after hours clinic is run at Cobram District Health on weekends and public holidays from 9am to 1pm.  Patients will be $50 out of pocket and payment must be made in full on the day.

 Dr Taufiq Abu MBBS FRACGP

Dr Abu completed his studies at Monash University in Melbourne.  Before relocating to Cobram in 2014, Dr Abu worked at  Goulburn Valley Health in Shepparton. 

Dr Abu has experience in accident and emergency medicine and has special interests in obstetrics, paediatrics and general medicine. 


 Dr Michael Chabbou FRACGP MD ROM

Dr Chabbou

Dr Chabbou was born in Syria and completed his medical training in Romania, he returned to work in Syria for 2 years before relocating to Australia. Dr Chabbou worked in Tasmania, Frankston, Swan Hill, Kyabram and Western Hospital before settling in Cobram in 2001.

Dr Chabbou’s special interests are mental health, emergency, paediatrics and drug rehabilitation.

Dr Chabbou speaks English, Arabic and Romanian and is a Registrar GP trainer.


Dr Yue Chen BMed MMed PhD FRACGP

Dr ChenDr Yue Chen received his primary medical degree in China. Dr Chen obtained his Masters in Medicine, PhD at Royal Melbourne Hospital and the Austin Hospital via Melbourne University.

Dr Chen was predominately based at the Austin Hospital in Melbourne for 10 years before commencing at Cobram Medical Clinic in February 2012. Dr Chen's special interests are men’s health, andrology and mental health.


 Dr Cristina Dumitrescu MBBCH MRCGP FRACGP

Dr Cristina Dumitrescu completed her medical training in South Africa and GP training in the UK.  In the mid 90's, Dr Dumitrescu moved to Australia and worked in Cobram for 2 years before returning to the UK.  Dr Dumitrescu returned to the Cobram Medical Clinic in 2005.

Special interests are dermatology, skin checks & minor surgery procedures, emergency medicine and mental health.

Dr Dumitrescu speaks English, Romanian and German and is a GP Registrar supervisor.


 Dr Jude James MBBS FRACGP

Dr James is an accredited GP trainer with Bogong Regional Training Network. Dr James graduated in India in 2001 and trained in the UK for 2 years before moving to Australia.

Dr James has been in a clinical practice for 10 years and has worked at Cobram Medical Clinic since 2008.

Dr James has special interests in treating patients with chronic medical issues, emergency medicine and mental health. Dr James is a  GP Supervisor.


Dr Derrick Pang B.Sc.MEDS. MD FRACGP

Dr PangDr Pang completed his medical training in Malaysia before moving to Cobram in 2008. He has been practicing as a doctor since 2002 and speaks English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Malay.

Dr Pang’s special interests include aged care and chronic disease management.



 Dr Pauline Tyndall FRACGP, DRANZ COG

MedicalDr Pauline Tyndall is a graduate of the University of Melbourne and has trained in paediatric health in Australia and the UK, with Neonatal ICU level 3 in London. Dr Tyndall completed GP Obstetric diploma in Melbourne and currently shares care with Shepparton, Wodonga and Wangaratta Hospitals.

Other interests are adolescent and rural family medicine, preventative health, skin and minor surgical procedures.

Fees and Billing

Please have your current Medicare, Pension or Health Care Card with you at each visit. Patients are required to settle accounts at the time of consultation. Payment can be made by cash, cheque, EFTPOS or by credit card.

Cobram Medical Clinic is online with Medicare Australia and patients can have their Medicare rebate deposited directly into their nominated bank account 24-48 hours after payment. To take advantage of this service please ensure that your bank details have been registered with Medicare Australia.

Doctors may bulk bill at their own discrection.
